Biography

Andrés comes from Montevideo, capital of Uruguay. He took his first steps of Cuban Salsa in 2000, learning in an Uruguayan salsoteca and later on he made presentations at various events with a small dance group called "Salsa Clash". In 2003 he started learning Salsa Los Angeles style, Afro-Cuban dance and Rumba in the most important school at the time in Montevideo called Promúsica and took courses from a recognized Cuban professor named Wilfredo Acosta, former dancer of the famous company "Tropicana" and "Afro Cuba".

 

In 2005 he joined the dance company Salsa Diakara which had been directed by Professor Wilfredo Acosta. With Salsa Diakara, Andrés made many presentations in theaters, clubs and international salsa congresses, growing as a dancer in the style Los Angeles. In March 2007 he was the host of the International Salsa Congress of Uruguay which had the main performance of Tropical Gem among others.

 

After the Congress of Uruguay, he moved to Barcelona to join the nice salsa atmosphere in this city and this country. Andrés has taught salsa in Uruguay since 2004 in various schools such as: Corpus Fitness & Dance, Dance Equilibrium and Promúsica school amont others. In Barcelona Andrés began teaching at the school SalSabor and later on in Salsa Buena Vista Barcelona, ​​Mojito Club Terrassa, Fusion Style, Tao Do, Icarus Club and Manisero de la Salsa, among others.

 

In February 2008 Andrés & Trini and 2 more dancers formed the dance company "Our Latin Thing DanceCo" and performed in salsotecas and conferences such as: El Manisero de la Salsa in Sabadell, Mojito Bar in Barcelona, Mojito Club in Terrassa, La Clave in Barcelona, ​​SalSabor in Barcelona, Tibidabo in Barcelona, ​​La Feria de Abril in Barcelona, ​​etc.

 

In September 2009 Andrés & Trini created the amateur company "Cocolos" to show what with hard work and dedication they can obtain from people who want to start in the world of performances without being professionals. They presented their first choreography "Agárrate" in April 2010.

 

In 2012 Andrés and Trini joined two teachers (Marta Canals and Mura Hajaoui) and formed "So You Dance?" a new professional Salsa company in Barcelona and presented their choreography "Aquí traigo mi montuno".

 

Today he teaches Salsa L.A. and Sensual Bachata Dance with Trini in Distrito Dance. Andrés & Trini have worked together as teachers for over 7 years and they continue to do what they like most, Teaching and Dancing.
